Candida Yeast Infections

Painful sex, now stopping birth control???

Hello everyone,

I am Nicole, and I have been married for almost 2 years to my husband. I am 22 almost 23 years old. I have been on BC for about 7 years off and on. In the last two years i started to have problems with sex.

I had decided to go on BC in 2007 when I noticed that I would actually be on my period for my wedding. Well i was not okay with that so I went to my closest clinic. I told them I wanted to start BC and that I was also having a pain during sex about 5 -10 min. into it. So they gave me BC and told me that I just needed to use more lub.

I went with it and thought it would get better. After a few months and nothing happened I finally decided to go back. I told them I was still having the problem and that it was coming more frequent and in a shorter time. They checked me and they said that now I had a yeast infection and gave me some meds. I took them and again nothing happened.

By the time my wedding came around the pain had gotten to the point were it was the whole time during sex and so bad that I had to stop sex all together. Thank goodness my husband was understanding. After our honeymoon( that we did not even get to have sex on) I made a appointment for another doctor.

I went to her and she told me that she was concerned that I had Endometriosis. She advised me to have surgery to check it out. So I did and nothing was there. And we were back at square on and $3,000 less.

Now almost a year later and still not able to have sex because of the pain. I recently read a article that said you can have a reaction to your BC. Saying that if you are on BC for a long amount of time and the estrogen levels are to low you can have the same effects and being pregnant or “the change”, and there for the reason for painful sex.

So as of 2 weeks ago i have stopped my BC and praying that it works. If not I guess I am left with trying a estrogen cream for $90 a month!!!!

Well thank you everyone for taking the time to read my story. And I am looking forward to hearing from anyone who had also had these problems or just has any advice.

Nicole
